Sam McClure has blasted Hawthorn’s strategic plan of winning another seven premierships by 2050.

The club’s president-elect Peter Nankivell reiterated the club’s goal on Tuesday, which was first announced by current president Jeff Kennett in 2017.

“This is just a weird plan,” Sam McClure said on Wide World of Sports.

“Why do clubs … feel like they need to tell all of their fans what they’re trying to do.

“We all know what you’re trying to do … it makes no sense to me why you have to continue to tell these people.”
