A much-loved float which has appeared at Moomba since the early ’90s has been knocked back from the 2023 parade.

Moomba has rejected the Melbourne Caribbean Carnival float — which features colourful costumes and no choreography.

Spokesperson for Melbourne Caribbean Carnival, Roger Phillips, says he was told there were too many floats.

“They told us there were too many … and we were not successful,” he told Neil Mitchell.

Mr Phillips doesn’t believe there’s an appeal avenue.

“We only hope people like you will spread the news,” he told Neil Mitchell.
