Normie Rowe’s grandson finally gets medical treatment after five-day ordeal
Singer Normie Rowe’s grandson finally has his foot in a moon boot after a five-day battle to get treatment for a broken foot.
Seven-year-old Baxter was taken to several hospitals over a number of days, but excessive wait times meant he couldn’t be seen.
On Friday evening he finally had his foot immobilised after a GP referred him to a private orthotic clinic.
“You think the public health system is supposed to be there for the people and it was a sad wakeup that it really wasn’t,” his mother, Bianca Rowe, told Neil Mitchell.
“Being that the break is near the growth plate it’s what may happen in the future because it wasn’t immobilised soon enough that I guess we’re yet to find out.
“I’ve been furious, frustrated, beside myself. There’s nothing worse than having something happen with your child and not being able to fix it.”
