Leader of the Greens Adam Bandt has put forward a proposal to reduce power bills and ease the cost of living.

“The Greens are proposing to freeze electricity bills for two years and make those greedy energy corporations pay for it,” Mr Bandt told Tom Elliott.

“These big corporations in Australia are taking the country for a ride and it’s not only fueling the climate crisis, they’re not delivering a return to the people and we’re proposing it’s time for the government to do something about it.”

Mr Bandt also addressed the decision to keep Lidia Thorpe on the Greens party after finding out about her brief relationship with former bikie boss Dean Martin.
