Man charged after making shocking number of nuisance Triple Zero calls

A man has been charged after allegedly making almost 250 nuisance calls to Triple Zero in a week.

The 73-year-old Frankston man called Triple Zero 248 times between October 12 and 19.

He was arrested on October 19 after police attended a Skye Road address to investigate the circumstances surrounding the calls. Police had also attended the property earlier in the day to provide a warning.

The man was charged, bailed and released from custody, then the man allegedly made further calls and was arrested.

He has been charged with multiple counts of using a telecommunications service to harass and improper use of an emergency service.

The man appeared before Frankston Magistrates’ Court and has been bailed to January 30.
