Former homicide boss issues grave warning about Paul Denyer
A former homicide boss at Victoria Police says he believes Paul Denyer will kill again, should the Frankston serial killer be released from prison.
Mick Hughes helped put Denyer behind bars in 1993 for the murders of Natalie Russell, Elizabeth Stevens and Deborah Fream.
But a non-parole period of 30 years was later set, making him eligible to apply for release next year.
“If the public could hear his interviews and the way he spoke about his victims, he wouldn’t see the light of day again,” Mick Hughes told Neil Mitchell.
“He will kill again, that’s my opinion.
“You can throw any psychiatrist or psychologist at me and that won’t change, because I’ve seen the man and looked him in the eyes.”
