Light plane crashes into field near Ballarat
RMIT says it’s devastated by news one of its students died in a solo training flight near Ballarat.
The plane went down around 3.30pm on Tuesday at a property near Millbrook, killing the pilot.
He was the sole occupant on board.
Martin Bean, the vice chancellor and president of RMIT, extended his heartfelt condolences to the student’s family, loved ones and friends.
The University is offering counselling and support to all aviation students and staff.
