RUMOUR CONFIRMED

A 10-year-old Melbourne runner has set an unofficial 1500m world record.

Archie Sideridis unofficially broke the world record for a 10-year-old boy in the 1500 metres on the weekend.

He ran a time of 4.24.3, beating the previous record held by an American by just over two seconds.

President of the Glenhuntly Athletic Club, Michael Ryan, said the club had no idea he’d run that quickly.

“We didn’t think he’d run that quick so we’re pleasantly surprised at the club!,” he told Ross and Russel.

“We’re really proud of him.”
