A serious crash has closed all but one lane on the Monash Freeway city-bound.

Traffic is being diverted onto Burke Road due to the collision involving several trucks, a motor home, a maxi-cab and several cars.

“I’d suggest all city-bound lanes are likley to close shortly,” Chris Miller from the Department of Transport told Neil Mitchell.

Queues are banked back to Huntingdale Road.

Motorists are advised to get off the Monash Freeway as soon as possible and take the Princes Highway and Dandenong Road instead.
