The Mayor of Merri-bek says he’s “very pleased” council has been able to deliver a name-change in less than a year.

But Mark Riley wouldn’t be drawn on whether businesses and roads named “Moreland” should also change their name.

Moreland has officially been renamed Merri-bek due to Moreland’s slavery links.

“There is very wide support for this,” Councillor Riley told Neil Mitchell.
