Getting a ticket to the AFL grand final has become almost “out of reach” for the average footy fan, with concerns about the commercialisation of the biggest game of the season.

Tony Jones, who is hosting 3AW Mornings this week while Neil Mitchell is away, says “something has to be done” to fix the issue.

“It is wrong,” he said.

Geelong and Sydney have more than 127,000 members between them, but the two clubs, combined, will only get 34,000 tickets.

The rest will be corporate.

“It’s becoming out of reach, there is no doubt about that,” Dr Sam Duncan from the Holmesglen Institute told 3AW.
