A whistle-blowing Labor campaigner has told Neil Mitchell he was paid for Labor campaign work by the Victorian Parliament.

It follows allegations from three anonymous Labor MP’s the party misused its parliamentary entitlements to run last year’s election campaign

‘William’, whose anonymity has been protected by 3AW Mornings, said he worked for the party five days a week, but was paid by Parliament for two of those days.

‘We were explicitly told, that if anyone asks, we were just being employed by the party,’ William said.

He said he was told not to tell anyone how he was being paid.

But Premier Daniel Andrews insists his party has done nothing wrong, despite the allegations.

‘People are free to make claims, it doesn’t make their claims accurate,’ he said.

Parliament’s audit committee is now investigating, but state opposition leader Matthew Guy says he’ll refer it to IBAC.

‘There needs to be a serious investigation,’ he said.
