Union calls for Victoria’s Emergency Services Minister to resign
The Firefighters Union is calling for Victoria’s Emergency Services Minister to resign.
They’ve taken aim at Jacyln Symes following Saturday’s release of a damning report into the state of Victoria’s emergency call system.
An independent review, which was released at the weekend, found 33 Victorians died following long waits for an ambulance, or delays in getting their Triple Zero call connected.
The union’s Peter Marshall says an apology is not enough.
“This was foreseeable, it was preventable, and Minister Symes has no option, in our opinion, but to resign,” he said.
