World-first medical cannabis trial makes key epilepsy breakthrough
A world-first trial of cannabis-based medical treatments for typically drug resistant epilepsy has made a significant breakthrough.
It found prolonged use in adults significantly reduced the frequency of seizures.
One per cent of Australians are expected to live with epilepsy at some stage in their life.
Professor Terry O’Brien, specialist in neurology and clinical pharmacology at Alfred Health, told Ross and Russel it was an important development.
