Leading trainer Peter Moody threatens to walk away from horse racing
Leading horse trainer Peter Moody has threatened to walk away from racing and hand in his licence.
He believes he’s being unfairly targeted by stewards.
Moody must face the Appeals and Disciplinary Board over the application of swelling treatment to one of his runners today and is already the subject cobalt-related charges.
In an explosive interview with Racing.com, Moody ? trainer of champion mare Black Caviar ? said he was being pushed to breaking point.
‘I’m not going to put to detriment, or risk, my financial situation in fighting them,’ Moody said.
‘I’m probably just as happy to throw my licence across the desk when the time is right.
‘I’m not going to make a rash decision, I’ll have a good chat with my legal team, my wife (and) take it all in… But it’s becoming a pretty thin piece of glass I’m looking through.’
