The ‘unfair judgement’ many will cast on Mikhail Gorbachev after his death
Mikhail Gorbachev, the final leader of the Soviet Union before its collapse, has died aged 91.
“There is no question his record in office was marked by both enormous achievements, but also monumental failures,” Professor Mark Kramer, Director of the Cold War Studies Project at the Davis Center at Harvard University, told Ross and Russel.
“And in Russia, the focus tends to be on the failures.”
