Rex Hunt has thrown his support behind the ban on commercial netting in Port Phillip Bay.

The fishing enthusiast says it’s a measure that’s worked in other areas of Victoria.

But Andrew McLachlan of the Chairman of Melbourne Seafood Centre says the ban will have a ‘significant impact’ on the fishing industry.

And consumers may end up losing out too.
