Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in Collingwood after a high-speed chase across Melbourne’s north.

Police received reports about a speeding vehicle at Watsonia at about 4am.

The airwing followed the car as it was being driven erratically through Watsonia, Fawkner and Coburg, running red lights and travelling at excessive speeds.

The driver crashed through stop sticks on Yarra Boulevard and was eventually arrested in Collingwood.

A 30-year-old Reservoir man was arrested and is assisting police.
