New pop-up bike lanes in Port Melbourne, Elwood and St Kilda have been branded confusing, excessive and downright dangerous by a local councillor.

City of Port Philip councillor, Andrew Bond, said it was clear immediate action was needed.

“I’ve had dozens of emails and calls, text messages, from residents who have contacted me to complain about the over-engineering, visual pollution, but most importantly, the decrease in safety to pedestrians, cars and cyclists,” he said.
