Australians aged 30 and over will be eligible to get their fourth dose of a COVID vaccine from Monday.

The health minister announced the news on Thursday.

ATAGI has specifically recommended those aged over 50 should have their fourth dose, while those aged 30-49 may also choose to get one.

It means an additional 7.4 million Australians are now eligible for their second booster.

Mark Butler told 3AW Drive on Wednesday more than five million people in Australia were still “overdue” for their third dose.
