‘A good gesture’: Neil Mitchell pushes for West Gate Bridge change

Neil Mitchell says it’s time to change the flags flown on the West Gate Bridge.

Currently, only the Australian and Victorian flags are flown.

But the 3AW Mornings host says it’s time the Aboriginal flag was also there.

“They only fly the Aboriginal flag in NAIDOC Week. Perhaps you should put up another pole, provided it doesn’t cost $25 million like Sydney, or perhaps you’d take down the Victorian flag,” Neil Mitchell said.

“It’d be a good gesture.

“A lot of little local towns fly the Australian flag and the Aboriginal flag.”

Neil has contacted Victorian Roads Minister Ben Carroll, who is supportive of the idea and is looking into it.

“I think it’ll happen,” the 3AW Mornings host said.
