Neil Mitchell says an 80-year-old family business is being “screwed” by Green politics.

And he’s fuming with the Victorian government’s “heartless” response to the situation.

Neil Mitchell had a Red Hot Tip this week Stawell’s Advance Bricks and Pavers would be shutting down due to soaring gas prices.

The company has since confirmed that news.

“The essence of what is being reported is correct.

“Staff and customers have been notified of our impending closure.

“At this point we do not wish to make on-air comments, but will likely release a statement when we have greater command of the situation 

“There are numerous facets to our story, but one of my nephews forwarded Neil’s on-air comments this morning, with which we largely concur.

“This is a Green politics issue and little else.”

Energy minister Lily D’Ambrosio took aim at the federal government for “playing politics” with energy policy, rather than taking action, when asked about the matter.

“Who the hell is playing politics there, really!? Labor has been in power in Victoria for 18 of the past 22 years,” Neil Mitchell said.

“There are gas reserves here in Victoria they won’t let us mine.

“Now, sure, the federal government wears part of it, there is no question about that.”
