Shane Warne weighs into St Kilda’s bid for Essendon’s Jake Carlisle
Cricket great Shane Warne has implored St Kilda and Essendon to get their deal for Jake Carlisle ‘sorted’ as soon as possible.
Warne, one of the Saints’ biggest fans, told 3AW Carlisle was ‘exactly’ the player St Kilda needed.
The clubs are currently at loggerheads at the trade table.
‘200cm and can play forward or back, it’s exactly what the Saints need,’ Warne said on Sports Today.
‘Hopefully they can get that done and sort that pick five out and get it all sorted and Carlisle can be a Saint next year.’
Warne joined Dwayne Russell to discuss his upcoming cameo for East Sandringham.
The champion cricketer will play against Benleigh ANA this Saturday at Chisholm Reserve.
And it turns out Warne mightn’t be the only big name fronting up.
‘A little birdy tells me Matthew Lloyd is playing for Bentleigh,’ Warne said.
‘I think he could be the opposition this week – I’ll have to get that confirmed.’
While it’s still unclear whether Lloydy is going to play, the 3AW commentator has clearly been doing his homework just in case!
The @BentleighANA boys have already had the tapes out of the Gatting ball and are working out how they d play you. https://t.co/rZhzJqog6T
