A concerned business owner says violent and drug-fuelled crime is on the rise at Docklands and the issue isn’t being taking seriously by police.

Andrew got in touch with Tom Elliott via email on Monday to express his concerns.

He said he’d been forced to ring police twice in the space of five days, firstly after having a troubling “interaction” with a drug-affected person who was threatening to be violent.

Police did not attend.

He then found out a nearby cafe had been broken into and trashed a few nights later, but was left on hold for 38 minutes before his call was answered.

“We’ve got a real issue in Docklands, and generally in the city,” he said.
