The unexpected letter that ‘completely changed’ Aimee Shackleton’s life
Aimee Shackleton received a letter in 2019 that would change her life.
She was 39, and had grown up thinking her family was exactly that, blood and all.
But the letter from the Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority saying they had information about her birth details they would like to share with her.
It informed Aimee she had been conceived from a donor and he wanted to get in contact with her.
It floored her.
“It was a huge shock to my identity,” she told Tom Elliott on Thursday.
