Australia has a new most popular girl’s name for the first time since 2015.

Charlotte has been overtaken by Isla the most popular baby girl name in the country, according to McCrindle Research.

Oliver has been the most popular name for baby boys for nine years.

Baby name consultant and founder of ‘What’s in a Baby Name’ in San Francisco, Taylor Humphrey, says Isla is also incredibly popular in the United States.

“Isla, I would say, is the most popular name among my clients,” she told Ross and Russel.
