Calls for Labor to back Coalition’s Junction Oval commitment
There are calls for Labor to match the Coalition’s six-million-dollar commitment to revamping the Junction Oval, if it’s elected on Saturday.
The redevelopment would help turn the ground into an international centre for women’s cricket, with broadcast-quality lighting, as well as a home for the FightMND charity.
There would also be a refurbishment of the Kevin Murray grandstand.
“I welcome it,” Neil Mitchell said on Thursday.
“I feel it has been underused for years.”
Cricket Victoria chief Nick Cummins said they were hoping for good news soon.
