The men who saved two people from drowning off Frankston pier have been recognised as ‘Everyday Lifesavers’ by Lifesaving Victoria.

Jarrah Brown and his friend Alby Ward jumped into the water to save a man and a woman who had lost consciousness while swimming.

‘I guess I just jumped in,’ Mr Brown told Neil Mitchell on Wednesday.

The woman was revived at the scene, but the man left the scene in a worse state.

‘I’ve recently heard that he’s fully awake now, (with) no apparent damage and it should be a full recovery,’ Mr Brown said.

‘It makes me ecstatic.’

Neil says the word ‘hero’ is deserved in this instance.
