Outspoken Liberal MP Bernie Finn is set to face a party room revolt in the wake of his controversial comments about abortion.

Liberal Party MPs will vote on a motion to kick the upper house MP out of the party next Tuesday.

Opposition leader Matthew Guy said they’d been left with no option.

He said a “continued lack of discipline and repeated actions detrimental to the party’s ability to stand up for the interest of Victorians” was the driving factor.

Mr Finn resigned as opposition whip in the upper house last week, after posting on Facebook he was “praying” abortion would be banned in Victoria, even in the case of sexual assault.
