Three suspects are in custody following a violent attempted robbery and an aggravated burglary in Melbourne’s west overnight.

The first incident happened on Ballarat Rd, Sunshine North about 10.45pm.

A man in his 50s was pushed off a bike and three offenders rifled through his clothing before fleeing empty-handed.

The trio then broke into a house in Lynch Street, Sunshine.

They were confronted by a resident before fleeing with stolen items including phones.

Three suspects — aged 21, 18 and 16 — were arrested on nearby George Street.
