Convoy of more than 60 trucks to cross Melbourne’s south-east to honour ‘a legend’
A convoy of more than 60 trucks will today pay tribute to a much-loved truckie.
Dozens of trucks are gathering at Hallam this morning before travelling as a group to Bunurong Memorial Park for truckie Stuart Baker’s funeral.
Managing Director of Membrey’s Transport & Crane Hire, Craig Membrey, says the industry has “lost a legend”.
“We’re departing Hallam Truck Centre at 10am under police escort,” he told 3AW Breakfast.
“Down Princes Highway, South Gippsland Highway, Dandenong Bypass and then Frankston-Dandenong Road.”
Mr Membrey says they’ve planned for 60 to 80 trucks to attend, but he suspects there may be more.
