Petrol prices have again soared above $2 a litre in Melbourne, despite the government’s fuel excise cut in March.

3AW Breakfast has received quite a few messages from listeners this week, pointing out the price rise.

Graeme Bethune, CEO of energy advisor firm EnergyQuest, said “disruption and uncertainty” in the energy market remained.

“But they’re probably not likely to go significantly higher than they are now, unless there is more global disruption,” he said.
