Two men stabbed to death in Brunswick
Homicide squad detectives are investigating the deaths of two men in Brunswick this morning.
Police and emergency services were called to Hope Street about 5.20am after receiving reports of a stabbing.
The two victims — a 61-year-old Coburg man and a 59-year-old Brunswick man — died at the scene.
A Hope Street apartment complex has been cordoned off this morning.
There’s a trail of blood running a few hundred metres up Sydney Road.
3AW police reporter Pat Mitchell has seen CCTV which appears to show a woman with a bleeding arm walking along the road.
“That’s why the blood is there, there’s some blood dripping from her arm,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“She’s crossed the road, jumped on a tram.”
A 44-year-old Brunswick woman was arrested on a tram in Carlton this morning.
She’s currently in hospital under police guard.
Police believe all parties are known to each other.
A strip club about 350 metres from where the two men were found dead has been cordoned off by police.
