Matthew Guy has moved to clarify any confusion about the Victorian Liberal Party’s stance on East-West Link, saying the opposition remains committed to building the road, should it win government.

It comes after Mr Guy said earlier on Tuesday he would “wait and see” what the project looked like.

“The road needs to be built. I don’t think anybody on the Eastern (Freeway) would disagree with that,” he told Tom Elliott.

“My comments today were around the funding mix and the state of Victoria’s finances, which aren’t good.”

Tom Elliott pressed Mr Guy about that subject.
