Inspirational eight-year-old sets up Good Friday Appeal cake stall
An inspirational little girl is again going above and beyond to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal.
Katie, aged eight, was born with neurofibromatosis — an incurable condition where a person lacks the gene that suppresses tumors, so every nerve ending has the possibility of developing a tumour.
She has a tumour on her optic nerve and one on the base of her brain at the top of the spine.
The resilient eight-year-old been in and out of the Royal Children’s Hospital her whole life and has just finished a three-year course of chemotherapy.
Today Katie — along with her mum and big sister Rosie — has set up a very impressive cake stall at Apex Park on Great Ryrie Street in Heathmont for the second year running. All money raised from the stall will go to the Good Friday Appeal.
