Woman fined over Melbourne Cup cop shove
The woman who pushed a police officer into a garden at Flemington racecourse on Melbourne Cup day has been fined $800 in court.
Sarah Finn, 24, will also have to pay $117 in costs and $150 for the policeman’s damaged glasses.
Vision of the incident in front of shocked television cameramen went viral around the world.
The officer, Acting Superintendent Steven Cooper, told Ross and John about the incident at the time,
‘I’m certainly copping it from mates all over the world,’ Supt Cooper told 3AW Breakfast.
‘The only thing that’s hurt is my pride.’
