The inside word on possible fuel excise cuts in next week’s budget
It’s widely expected Josh Frydenberg will cut the fuel excise tax in next Tuesday’s federal budget.
But motorists shouldn’t be expecting a huge slash, experts warn.
Dr Lurion De Mello, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Finance at the Macquarie University Business School, told Tom Elliott he expected the cut to be somewhere in the vicinity of 10 and 15 cents, a litre.
“Anything beyond that is, I think, unrealistic,” he said.
