White Ribbon ambassador Greg Davies questions motive of prison fundraiser
A White Ribbon ambassador has questioned whether the organisation should accept money raised by some of the state’s toughest prisoners.
As many as 60 inmates at Barwon Prison, including CBD murderer Christopher Wayne Hudson and Hells Angels bikies, ran laps raising as much as $3000 for the organisation.
White Ribbon Ambassador and Victims of Crime Commissioner, Greg Davies, said many in the organisation would question whether they should accept money from criminals with a history of violence against women.
‘A cynic might say this is done for an ulterior motive,’ he said.
‘Others might say it shows some sign that perhaps they’re starting to be rehabilitated.
‘It’s a matter entirely for White Ribbon as to whether or not they accept the money that was raised.’
