‘Hideous’ attack on Ukrainian maternity hospital sparks call to action
9 News correspondent Amelia Adams admits she’s struggling to put together he report from Ukraine after a maternity hospital was destroyed by Russian air strikes in the city of Mariupol.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack was “direct strike” on the hospital, filled with newborns and their mothers, and again urged the world to implement a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
“How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror?” he asked on his Twitter account.
Amelia Adams said the scene was “hideous” and told Neil Mitchell the attack felt like a new low in the conflict.
“Every picture, every image, every frame of this vision is just horrendous,” she said.

Mariupol. Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital. People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity! How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror? Close the sky right now! Stop the killings! You have power but you seem to be losing humanity. pic.twitter.com/FoaNdbKH5k
