RUMOUR (partially) CONFIRMED: Bill Shorten was involved in a car crash in Carlton at the weekend.

It was first raised by ‘Short Black’ on the 3AW Breakfast Rumour File, and the Opposition Leader’s office confirmed Mr Shorten crashed his late mother’s Mitsubishi into a number of cars on Pigdon Street in Carlton on Sunday.

Mr Shorten’s office said he had side-swiped parked cars.

We have been unable to confirm whether the crash was caused by a coffee spilt in Mr Shorten’s lap, as originally suggested by the Rumour File caller.

The crash happened about two hours before Mr Shorten held a press conference about the terror attacks in Paris.
