Pacific Dawn, the largest ship under the West Gate Bridge
She made it.
There was only about 2.5m between the Pacific Dawn and the West Gate Bridge as the largest ship to sidle up the Yarra made its pass this morning.
The cruise liner docks at Victoria Dock, next to Melbourne’s Docklands, giving its 2000 passengers city views before they head into Flemington for the Melbourne Cup.

The 70,285-tonne superliner is one of a record four cruise ships visiting Melbourne for the Cup.
Between them, the ships’ 8000 guests will represent around 8 per cent of total attendees at Flemington on Cup day.
