The Broadway production of musical Hairspray is coming to Melbourne!

Much-loved performer Shane Jacobson, will star as housewife Edna Turnblad, a role made famous by John Travolta in the Hairspray film.

He says it’s the first role he’s ever landed that his kids think is cool.

“The thing I love most about this is, I think for the first time ever, my children are excited about something I’m doing because they love the film,” he told Ross and Russel.

Shane joined Ross and Russel in the 3AW studio to talk about the role.
