Specialist plastic surgeon brands changes to elective surgery rules ‘window dressing’
A specialist plastic surgeon has branded the Victorian government’s changes to elective surgery “window dressing” and says they don’t go far enough.
Health Minister Martin Foley announced on Friday more surgeries would be allowed from Monday.
“Whilst I welcome some easing to the pain that Victorians are suffering, it’s still a cruel under-utilisation of resources,” Dr Richard Bloom told Tom Elliott.
He also rejected claims it was a “50 per cent” return.
