Holocaust survivor shares a powerful message for Whoopi Goldberg
A Holocaust survivor has marked her 98th birthday by sharing a powerful message.
Melbourne woman Annetta Able and her twin sister, who died two years ago, survived the brutal experiments of cruel Nazi doctor Josef Mengele, but the rest of their family died at Auschwitz.
She has shared a powerful response to Whoopi Goldberg’s claims that the Holocaust wasn’t about race.
“To Whoopi Goldberg and all others – be careful with the words you choose and use. Be careful with the effect they have,” she said in the letter.

“In a world of fake news – be careful not to bring back the horrors of the past. The Holocaust was about Nazi’s policy to rid the world of Jews in the cruelest possible way.”
Annetta’s daughter, Daphne, says the family we’re “quite upset when we heard the comments Whoopi had made”.
“Normally her sister would have been the one who would have spoken out, but since she’s no longer with us, mum took it on herself to say this is the time for her to speak up,” she told Neil Mitchell.
