Qantas boss Alan Joyce has likened Western Australia’s draconian border restrictions to North Korea.

He’s once again called on Western Australian premier Mark McGowan to provide certainty over when the state will be reopening, with the state aborting initial plans to open up again on February 5.

The border closure has cost Qantas millions of dollars in flight cancellations.

Mr Joyce said there was “something fundamentally wrong” with the internal border closure and people should feel outraged by it.

“The fact you can get to London, but not to Perth – we are supposed to all be Australian – but you can’t even travel in your own country,” he told 3AW Breakfast.

“And there isn’t a plan in Western Australia.

“It’s starting to look like North Korea.”
