Mornington Peninsula man and his dogs raise thousands for the Royal Children’s Hospital
A Mornington Peninsula man and his dogs have raised thousands for the Royal Children’s Hospital by cruising around on their motorbike.
Warick started fundraising for the hospital about five years ago, after someone said he should charge people to take photos with his Jack Russell terriers — 12-year-old Dash, two-year-old Flash and 15-week-old Daisy — who ride around on the back of his bike.
“I put a tin for the Royal Children’s Hospital on the back, and in 18 months, pre-COVID, they made $10,000 over 48 tins!,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“They wear goggles … and also they’ve got a screen on the back of the bike as well, so out in 100 kilometre zones they tuck their head in out of the weather.”
Warick says it’s his way of giving back to a hospital that helped him when he was young.
“When I was six I had polio and I was at the children’s hospital and they solved all my problems,” he said.
