Police charge 37 people and seize almost two dozen knives in public transport hub blitz
Police have arrested 37 people and seized 23 knives in a police blitz at public transport hubs in the Cardinia, Casey and Greater Dandenong areas.
OMNI operations — which ran from Thursday to Saturday — aimed to detect weapons offences, gather intelligence and enhance community safety.
More than 650 people and 800 vehicles were checked, and 105 offenders were identified.
Of those, 37 were arrested and charged for offences including possession of illicit drugs and prohibited weapons.
Police also seized items including over 300 grams of illicit drugs and other weapons.
