Novak Djokovic’s family abruptly end Belgrade press conference
The family of Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has abruptly ended a press conference after being questioned about the world number one’s movements after he tested positive to COVID-19.
Djokovic’s lawyers gave evidence that he returned a positive COVID-19 result on December 16, but he was photographed maskless in the following three days with people in Belgrade.
At a press conference after Djokovic’s victory in Australia’s Federal Circuit Court, Nine News Europe Correspondent in Belgrade, Brett Mcleod, asked the tennis star’s family if he tested positive on December 16.
“They said ‘Yes, that’s what’s in the court and that’s what’s true’,” he told Stephen Quartermain and Emily Power, filling in for Ross and Russel.
It sparked questions from other journalists about the photographs of Djokovic in the days after December 16, and Djokovic’s brother abruptly declared “this press conference is adjourned”.
