Australia’s COVID-19 outbreak sees popular airline slash number of flights
One-in-four Virgin Australia flights scheduled for the next six weeks has been cancelled.
The airline says the Omicron COVID-19 outbreak has limited crew availability, but also sparked a rise in cancellations from passengers.
“It’s a pretty ugly one, unfortunately,” Finance reporter Scott Phillips said on 3AW Drive.
The airline says most existing bookings will be moved to other flights, but almost a dozen routes will be suspended temporarily from January 24.
