Shadow health minister calls for urgent ‘clarity’ on Victoria’s 34 million free RATs
The Andrews government has purchased more than 34 million rapid antigen tests (RATs), which will be provided free to Victorians in January.
But it’s still unclear who will be eligible for the tests and how they’ll be distributed.
With the testing regime now relying on RATs in many circumstances, shadow health minister Georgie Crozier says clarity around the free Victorian tests is urgently needed.
“We need to understand what the government is going to do, what is the eligibility criteria they’re going to apply for these 34 million tests,” she told Shane McInnes, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
“We need the rapid testing and we need to understand from the Andrews government who is going to be able to have the free antigen tests and how are they going to distribute them.”
